Brazilian Startup Moya Aero Drone Delivery Joins Drone Logistics Ecosystem as latest member

Moya Aero

The Drone Logistics Ecosystem (DLE) announced last week its latest Member — the Brazilian drone delivery company, Moya Aero, reports a press release. Based in São José dos Campos, Brazil, the company is pioneering the creation of the southern hemisphere’s inaugural high-capacity cargo drone.

Moya’s innovative craft operates on 100 percent electric power with a range of 110 km and has an impressive payload capacity of 200 kg. With a prototype set to take flight later this year, the company has already secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the purchase of 50 craft with Helisul, Brazil’s largest helicopter operator, which is diversifying into the drone sector.

Renata Marins Paolillo, COO of Moya Aero, commented, “The cargo drone market is poised to evolve in diverse directions due to the extensive array of possibilities before us. Automation stands as a pivotal stride, eliminating the need for pilots on long-haul journeys and transcending the limitations of traffic.”

She continued, “As drones proliferate, they will revolutionise vital transport segments beyond the confines of last-mile logistics, enhancing productivity and efficiency. The more this market progresses, the more all stakeholders will reap rewards.”

DLE is a global/virtual network of companies, universities, the public/governments and investors operating in the drone logistics industry. The aim is to bring together stakeholders to collaborate in standardising the rapidly emerging drone market.

As a majority of the involved companies are early-stage start-ups with limited access to funding, manpower and expertise, DLE is an ideal platform to share expertise and co-develop products and services that acquire cross-border market access with other members.

In the past two years, DLE has expanded to include 50 organisations, consisting of 46 companies, two universities and the world’s largest drone association, Japan UAS Industrial Development Association, across 21 different countries. Within a short time DLE has created several international proof-of-concept projects with a few commercialisation prospects in the pipeline. DLE is in the process of forming a commercialisation model to help Members reach the market faster in partnership with others.
