Sino Jet signs agreement to purchase 100 Aerofugia eVTOL aircraft

Sino Jet, Asia-Pacific’s major business aviation enterprise, has signed a procurement agreement with Aerofugia, a subsidiary of Geely Group, for the acquisition of 100 eVTOL aircraft, reports a press release.

Also, the two companies state they have strengthened their partnership with an exclusive strategic cooperation agreement. Both say “they are set to collaboratively shape the ongoing airworthiness standards for eVTOLs, providing a comprehensive solution for low-altitude, three-dimensional commercial operations.”

The release states, “The AE200 eVTOLs procured by Sino Jet have a maximum range of 200–300 km, a cruising speed of 250 km/h, while the noise of the propellor is only around 45 dB. Having successfully completed its maiden flight, the prototype has embarked on comprehensive type certification efforts. The AE200 is the first tilt-rotor eVTOL to complete full-scale prototype test flight in China.”

It continues, “As the largest single order for manned eVTOLs in the Chinese business aviation sector, this agreement marks the introduction of eVTOLs into the business aviation landscape.”

And concludes, “Following the signing of the strategic agreement, Sino Jet will leverage its extensive experience in aircraft operations, deploying a highly digitised aircraft lifecycle management system and a skilled professional team to facilitate the establishment of continuous airworthiness standards and compliance methods for eVTOLs.”
