Aircraft lessor Milestone Aviation Group has sold a Sikorsky S-92 helicopter to the Brunei Shell Petroleum Company.
Configured for passenger transport, the helicopter is intended for offshore oil and gas missions in Brunei, Borneo.
Michael York, head of Emerging Markets, Milestone Aviation said the S-92 is the workhorse of the offshore oil and gas industry. The aircraft will hold this position for many years due to its advanced capabilities and proven reliability, he said.
“The sale of this aircraft is also testament to the strong liquidity in the helicopter market,” continued York. “We are grateful to BSP [Brunei Shell Petroleum] for the trust that they have placed in Milestone, and we thank them for their business.”
John Cameron, head of Aviation, Brunei Shell Petroleum said: “The purchase of the additional S-92 and optimisation of our aviation fleet allows the BSP Aviation department to continue providing safe and efficient air transport services.” The S-92 has been a cornerstone of BSP’s air transport services since 2007 and “we look forward to continued operations with the aircraft for several years”, he added.
Milestone offers operating leases, purchase/leasebacks, secured debt financing, engine leasing and fleet advisory to more than 50 clients in over 40 countries across a range of industries.
The largest oil and gas company in Brunei Darussalam, BSP produces oil and gas from onshore and offshore fields for domestic use and export to international markets.
